Terms of service
These are the terms for using Quire. They're written to be read. By using the site or buying a plan, you agree to them.
Who you're dealing with
Quire is run by Souptik Debnath, an individual based in India (“Quire”, “we”). Paid plans are sold through Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record: when you buy, Polar is the seller and handles payment, invoicing and sales tax, and its terms also apply to the purchase.
What Quire is
Quire is a tool for writing invoices and exporting them as PDFs or shareable links. It is a design and productivity tool. It does not collect, hold or move money between you and your clients, and it isn’t accounting, legal or tax advice.
Your invoices are your responsibility
You are responsible for what you put on an invoice: that the amounts, tax rates, registration numbers and other details are correct and meet the rules where you and your client are. Quire does the arithmetic accurately, but it can’t know whether the tax rate you entered is the right one.
Don’t use Quire to make false, misleading or fraudulent invoices, to impersonate anyone, or for anything illegal.
Where your data lives
Your work is stored in your browser on your device, not on our servers. We can’t recover it if your browser data is cleared, so keep copies of anything that matters. See the privacy policy for the details.
Free and paid plans
- The free plan is free to use and has the limits shown on the pricing page.
- Quarterly plans are billed every 3 months and yearly plans once a year. Both renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for.
- Lifetime plans are a single payment for the plan as it is sold, for as long as Quire is offered.
- Prices depend on where you are billing from and are shown before you pay.
Your account
A paid plan belongs to an account, which you sign in to with a link sent to your email. Keep that inbox secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. One account is for one person or business; please don’t share a paid plan across people who aren’t part of it. You can delete your account at any time from the account menu.
The price you keep
The price you join at is the price you keep. If you keep a quarterly or yearly plan active, it renews at the price you first paid, even if the published price goes up later. If you cancel and come back, you’ll pay the price at that time.
Refunds
Any payment can be refunded in full within 14 days. The refund policy has the details.
Features being built
Some features are shown as “being built”. They are plans, not promises: we’re working on them and paid plans include them when they ship, but we don’t guarantee when, or that every one will.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Quire running and accurate, but it’s provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or improve features over time. If we ever stop offering Quire, we’ll give paying customers reasonable notice so they can export their work.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of Quire, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Ending
You can stop using Quire whenever you like. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms, particularly the rules on fraudulent use.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the date at the top changes. For changes that matter to paying customers, we’ll give notice on the site or by email before they take effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions or disputes: write to support@tryquire.com first, and we’ll try to sort it out directly.
Questions about any of this go to support@tryquire.com, and a person reads every one.
